The Pentacam® AXL Wave is a multi-function, non-contact ophthalmic diagnostic platform that integrates five advanced technologies in a single system. It combines Scheimpflug tomography for high-resolution 3D imaging of the anterior segment, optical biometry for precise axial length measurement and accurate IOL power calculation, and wavefront aberrometry to analyze lower- and higher-order aberrations affecting visual quality. Objective refraction derived from wavefront data supports reliable pre- and post-operative assessment, while retroillumination imaging enables evaluation of lens opacities and the position and centration of implanted IOLs. Together, these features make the Pentacam AXL Wave a comprehensive solution for anterior segment diagnostics and surgical planning.
